World Book Day at Camden Market FAQs

When is the World Book Day event happening?

We will be celebrating on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th March.

How do I book?

Simply select your preferred ‘Family Activities’ day on the Eventbrite page to gain access to all our free activities, and if you wish, you can book yourself a place on our ticketed events too.

How much does it cost?

Our events range from free activities to ticketed events with individual traders. Please see our Eventbrite page for details.

What age range is this suitable for?

No one knows their child better than you. There will be a range of activities available (i.e face painting and treasure hunts) which should appeal to children of all ages.

What happens if I’m late?

If you’re coming to look around the family activities, you can drop in and out as you wish. If you’re booked on a ticketed experience i.e a pancake brunch, we will, where possible accommodate you or attempt to move you on to an alternative session, if one is available, but this is dependent on the trader, time and individual circumstance.

Do I need to print my ticket?

No. You can download the Eventbrite app and scan the QR code at the workshop entrance or you can simply show the confirmation email on your phone or tablet.

Is there food and drink available?

Yes, Camden Market, Hawley Wharf and Buck Street are thriving food markets where refreshments and foods of all kinds can be purchased all day long.

Are all the performers DBS checked?

Yes, they are.

Is there anywhere to leave my belongings while the activities take place?

Unfortunately, we do not have room to hold coats, Mad Hatters, scarves, broomsticks, or Very Hungry Caterpillars and cannot be held responsible for any items left unattended.

What are my transportation and parking options?

Camden Town and Chalk Farm tube stations are 5 and 7 minutes’ walk respectively, away from Camden Market and Hawley Wharf. There are also bus stops along Chalk Farm Road, located next to Camden Market. There is limited parking near and surrounding Camden Market, as well as Morrison’s and Sainsbury’s with free car parking of up to 2hrs for paying customers. These are both located up to 10 minutes’ walk away from Camden Market.

Where are the nearest toilets and baby changing facilities?

There are disabled toilets, changing places and baby changing facilities around the markets. Please keep in mind, entry to the toilets costs 40p per person.

Is there a gift shop?

Camden Market is filled with one-of-a-kind gifts perfect for those who have everything.

Is my ticket transferable if the name doesn’t match the person who attends?

Yes, as long as you have the Eventbrite app and QR code ticket with the details.

Is there Disabled and buggy access?

Yes, Hawley Wharf has full lift access and disabled toilet facilities. Please note that areas of Camden Market are cobbled, and the Barge Book Readings are taking place on an authentic narrow boat, which could cause an obstacle to disabled people, those with mobility problems or those with buggies.

If you have any special requirements or questions, please email us to see if arrangements can be made. We make every effort to accommodate every single child, so please don’t be put off – get in touch.

Who do I talk to if I am unhappy in any way?

Us! Although we are sure this will not be necessary. Christmas is a magical and special time and is our goal that your experience with us will be just that. If you are in anyway dissatisfied, please contact us immediately and we will do all we can to rectify things.

If on the other hand you are happy with your experience with us, please tell everyone! Friends, family, neighbours, strangers in the street. Everyone!
