A LOOK AT DR. MARTENS' SHINY NEW, TWO STOREY FLAGSHIP PLUS SOME THINGS YOU MAY NOT HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THE SHOP
t’s finally here! Dr. Martens have moved into their spiritual home, Camden Market and are open for business. If you haven’t had a chance to check them out yet, here’s a sneak peak, plus some interesting facts about the newest addition to the Camden Market family.
Dr. Martens are located in one of the oldest parts of the market (just around the corner from Cyberdog and the Stables Yard). Their new home was once the building used to re-shoe the horses that worked on the Regent’s Canal.
The space has it’s very own gig space! Perfect for watching one-off performances and stomping around in your brand new DMs, you’ll be able to check out some of the coolest bands, DJs and artists every week, brought together by Mixcloud, Marshall and Dr. Martens.
The store is also practically a museum with donated, one-off items of memorabilia from counter-culture legends, including Pauline Black, Twin Atlantic and Slaves to name but a few.
Want to find out where Dr. Martens came from? Take a tour around DMs original UK factory with the Oculus, and explore the boot’s birthplace with a 360 tour. They’ve also got a free GIF booth — allowing you to capture your time in store and send it to your phone.
Dr. Martens are known for their unique, individuality and therefore the shop wouldn’t be complete without a full customisation bar. You can choose the leather, colour, laces and trimmings so that your pair are completely your own. Not feeling that creative? There will also be a range of exclusive ‘Made for Camden’ shoes and boots that are only available at the store.
They’ve also brought a little bit of the original factory to the shop, with an embossing machine that you can use to create your very own key ring to take away — the ultimate souvenir.
