Backyard Cinema Screening: Ray

London’s favourite al fresco cinema is returning to Camden Market in August, celebrating music.

Jamie Foxx took on the role of inimitable rhythm and blues musician Ray Charles for 2004’s music biopic Ray. The film charts 30 years in the life of Charles as he crafted his unique sound – exploding traditional genre classifications by incorporating gospel, country, jazz and orchestral influences. The film also puts the spotlight on the work Charles did to fight racial segregation in clubs and to champion artists’ rights in the music business. P.S. Foxx’s performance earned him an Academy Award for Best Actor.

Camden Market’s Honest Burgers will be supplying the grub and a Meantime Brewery truck will be serving up fresh cold drinks.
