On Jamestown Road, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Camden’s High Street, you’ll find Mildreds – and you’ll be so pleased you did. This internationally-inspired vegan restaurant was opened in Soho in 1988, with the sole ambition to serve delicious vegetarian food. It has been home to incredible food in Camden for the last eight years, and in 2021, Mildreds went fully plant-based, with a vibrant menu of adventurous dishes that just happen to be vegan.
This April, Mildreds have launched their spring menu, an array of dishes inspired by the season. Global dishes include a southern fried plant chick+n burger with mango pepper glaze and kimchi fried rice bokkeumbap with salt and pepper tofu, plus sweet treats like rum coconut sticky toffee pudding and banana biscoff pancakes.
Head to Mildreds Camden for brunch, served until 3pm, or enjoy weekday specials like £8 Camden Cocktail Club, 12-6pm, or the Prixe Fixe from 12-6pm, serving two courses for £18 or three courses for £22.
With a ‘root to tip’ philosophy, Mildreds prides itself on being waste-conscious and ensuring that the most possible use is made of every ingredient, from creating cordials and stocks from excess and using organic produce wherever possible. They are also proud partners of the Plan Zheroes, Streetsmart and Spread a Smile, charities that distribute surplus food, raise funds for the homeless, and support the wellbeing of seriously ill children respectively, so you can be sure your visit to Mildreds supports forces for good across the capital.
