FIND OUT HOW CAMDEN MARKET’S NEWEST RESTAURANT HAS BUILT AN IDENTITY FROM ITS HERITAGE

From aprons to their artwork, Gabeto has worked with the Market’s finest to create something special:

The Building

Created from one of the original stable buildings, it made up part of the infrastructure used to house the horses that towed the boats and trains into the area. The stables once held around 400 horses however once they became obsolete (with the last horse being withdrawn from duty in 1967) the building was repurposed, creating the Market you know and love today. Even though it’s been modernised, it still retains original features, such as the bridle equipment hooks that hang from the walls and ceiling.

The Aprons
Both the long and short aprons that you will find in the restaurant are customised, featuring the signature ‘G’ that makes up their logo. Each was handmade by Gabeto’s fellow traders, the M&M Leather Workshop. Check them out, just around the corner at the beginning of Saddle Row.

The Artwork

In 1989, artist John Bulley painted the iconic ‘Camden Lock’ signage that sits on the railway bridge that towers above the Market. Now in 2017, Bulley has returned to Camden Market to create unique, one of a kind artwork for Gabeto. Check them out on both the walls, outside food pods and menus.
