A BRAND NEW FESTIVAL OF IRISH MUSIC, FOOD AND FAMILY FUN LANDS IN CAMDEN MARKET
On Saturday 18th March, Camden Market will be turning green for the Mayor of London’s annual St Patrick’s festivities. Over the course of the day, expect live Irish music across the market and family activities including dancing and craft, as well as screenings of the ENG v IRE Six Nations rugby match. To round things off, live performances from top Irish bands MOXIE and Kíla who’ll even be hosting a special, interactive children’s show at midday.
Plus, in association with Firstage, you can step into the fourth dimension to watch bands from across the Irish Sea via your smartphone using augmented reality.
We’ve put together a lowdown of all what’s on when, so you know exactly what the craic is…
Live Music Trail
Kicking off the celebrations is a free trail of music through some of the market’s most exciting spots. Head off on a tour of some of Ireland’s best known artists, flown in especially for the festival by Music From Ireland. In the breaks between bands, head to one of the Market’s augmented reality spots to see bands that playing live via Firstage.

Soft, moody alternative rock from this one-man band. A mix of electronica and guitar, Dundalk native Jim O’Donoghue will be pedaling his alternative sound live.
Bantum — 12:30pm-12:40pm — Firstage Augmented Reality — HALF HITCH
A Dublin-based producer whose chilled out, electronic beats are a good way to ease into the afternoon.
Orla Gartland — 12:45pm-1:15pm — Live — Camden Deli
This young singer-songwriter rose to fame after publishing her songs on Youtube. See her perform her folky-indie pop live.
Barq — 1:15pm-1:25pm — Firstage Augmented Reality — Horse Tunnel Market
Named one of the 50 people to watch by the Irish Times, this high-energy four piece are bringing their rock vibes to the festival.
ZaPho — 1:30pm-2pm — Live — Ghetto Grillz Diner
A singer that defies genre stereotyping with her unusual mix of melodic indie-pop and synth drum and bass, tied together with her unique vocals.
Hare Squead — 2pm-2:10pm — Firstage Augmented Reality — Provender Building
Dubliners Tony, Lilo and Jessy are making waves in the Ireland’s hip hop scene with their energetic sound.
The Ocelots — 2:15pm-2:45pm — Live — The Cuban
Twin brothers from Wexford who’ve previously played SoFar sessions in London with their folky, acoustic sound similar to that of Nathaniel Rateliff.
Saint Sister — 2:45pm-3pm — Firstage Augmented Reality — Cyberdog/Stables Yard
Praised by the likes of Clash and Entertainment Weekly, Saint Sister layer electro beats, dreamy harp and haunting harmonies to create unique, folk music.
Basciville — 3pm-3:30pm — Live — Collectif
Mixing jazz, blues and pop these two brothers from Wexford are helping to pioneer a new wave of Irish soul music.
R.S.A.G. — 3:30pm-3:40pm — Firstage Augmented Reality — Flour Station
This one-man powerhouse made his name as a drummer, but is now also known as an excellent producer and showman, using his samples to help build his bold, energetic, sound.
Whenyoung — 3:45pm-4:15pm — Live — Voodoo Ray’s
Exploring the themes of youth in their upbeat, punchy songs, whenyoung has already begun to cause waves with their indie rock.
Bitch Falcon — 4:30pm-5pm — Live — The Amphitheatre
This high-octane hard-rock band burst onto the Dublin scene a couple of years ago and haven’t stopped since, awing critics with their strong sound and stage presence.
Family Festival — 10am-4pm— Atrium Kitchen

The Atrium Kitchen will become family fun central, with a variety of activities for little ones including arts and crafts Irish dancing lessons and of course, lots of face painting. The Guinness will be on tap for parents and the kitchen will be whipping up Irish treats.
At 12pm, Oscar-nominated Irish folk band Kíla will be performing live, with their special interactive children’s show. (Grown-ups pay £6 for a ticket, but kids under 12 go free!)

Oscar nominated folk band Kíla will be taking to the stage again with an upbeat performance of their best-known hits.
MOXIE — 7pm
A critically acclaimed fivesome, with music inspired and shaped by the west coast of Ireland, will be rounding off the live music events and have you up on your feet, jigging the evening away with their modern, innovative folk music.
Some of our top traders have taken the Irish theme and run with it, offering limited-edition dishes throughout the St Patrick’s weekend:
Butchies will be serving one of their signature fried chicken sandwiches, topping it with Guinness cheese sauce, Irish County relish and a Tayto crisp, cheese and onion crumb between Friday 17th and Saturday 18th March.
Voodoo Ray’s will be offering up Coddle (a potato, bacon, sausage and onion stew) with cabbage, Cashel Blue, Fior de Latte, tomato sauce and parsley on a special edition pizza for Saturday 18th March.
The Cheese Bar will be creating a blue cheese raclette, with Young Buck Irish cheese, salt beef and potatoes on Saturday 18th March.
Crosstown Doughnuts will be specially crafting a chocolate Guinness doughnut with Baileys Irish cream and chocolate ganache and Guinness Icing from the 17th to the 19th March.
Cereal Killers are offering a St Patrick’s Lucky Charm cereal with green milk between 17th and 19th March.
Chin Chin Labs will be whipping up a stout ice cream with seaweed caramel and potato sponge cake for the whole week, between 12th and 19th March.
