Desmond O'Keeffe, The Piano Man

Desmond O’Keeffe, of the Camden Piano Rescue, sadly passed away Tuesday 2nd October.

He was recently the subject of the feature length documentary ‘Piano to Zanskar’ which was released over the summer of this year, the trailer of his travels can be seen below.

True to his character, Desmond had his coffin made of recycled materials and adorned with music sheets.

Desmond’s shop acted as a meeting place and think tank for incubating diverse projects and bringing together, even more, diverse people. Desmond will be missed, not just by people in the Market and the wider Camden Community but by other people whose lives he touched from Africa to the Himalayas.
